Big Fat Daddy’s sells Giant Turkey Legs as part of the Backyard BBQ fair and festival menu. Wayne feels that a little turkey is a healthy alternative to usual fair and festival food. We are picky about our turkey legs, and love to photograph them!
Our turkey legs really are a work of art, we work hard to select the biggest turkey legs we can find. We cook them low and slow sprinkled with our famous dry rub seasoning. We only offer these at fairs and festivals and they are so large you normally can’t eat much else. Turkey legs are cooked to the full 165 degrees internal temperature which we probe down to the inner bone. A lot of people don’t understand that turkey legs can still appear somewhat pink smoke ring coloration on the inside. They don’t come out like the ones on your Thanksgiving bird, they will have a smokey barbecue flavor from being smoked on open wood, and the outside may have a bark on it. That’s how true turkey leg lovers like it.
As for pit turkey, we sometimes offer it also but we find people are crazy over our legs.
